Rosacea and How to Manage It
Rosacea is often recognized as extreme redness and inflamed skin typically in the cheek area of the face. Similar in looks to a sunburn. It can sometimes have small, pus-filled bumps. Typically those affected by rosacea often notice that spicy foods, alcohol, stress, and heat can trigger rosacea to flare up more than normal.
There are a lot of options for treatment to help manage rosacea.
- Things you can do at home: apply sunscreen, use a line that is calming to the skin and aids in reducing redness, and hydrate your skin.
- Next level treatment would be esthetic grade. Using light therapy (red light to heal the skin, reducing redness) and Vitamin A (retinol) products can help to an extent.
- Medical grade treatments such as a laser would be the best of the best. The laser works to heal the skin with a whole different approach. Specifically, the Aerolase Neo targets the excessive blood vessels in the affected area, destroying them. This is what causes the reduction in redness. Since rosacea is a chronic skin condition, this treatment may not be permanent. We recommend consecutive treatments to achieve your wanted results, and then do follow up maintenance as needed
