Help I’m starting to break out!!!

One of the most common questions we get is people messaging us about breakouts and how to fix them. This is probably the hardest question to respond to because the response is complicated, and we’d have to type you a 5-page message back. In truth, if there was an easy solution, no one would have breakouts. But with Acne, it’s so much more complicated than that. Things we need to know are things like-Is your skin dry with breakouts? Is it oily? What is your routine? Do you exfoliate? What products are you using? Are you getting more breakouts around that time of the month? Where are your breakouts? Is it cystic acne? Is it the kind of acne that from a distance you can’t see, but up close, it's a bunch of tiny bumps?

The BEST thing you should do is: Book an appointment to come in for a skin consultation. You can choose to just come in for just the consultation, or you can book a treatment to get started because, in that treatment, you will still get a consultation with a game plan of how we are going to attack your breakouts.

What treatment should you start with? Honestly, in treating Acne, you need a little bit of everything. It just matters you start somewhere. Here are a few guidelines:

Is it just a few random breakouts - Book a laser spot treatment. The Aerolase laser will shrink the oil glands, kill the bacteria, and reduce redness immediately.

Are you extremely red and inflamed - Book a light therapy facial. Most treatments/products for acne are aggressive, but sometimes you need to soothe the inflamed skin and reduce inflammation first. Light therapy reduces inflammation after 15 minutes, while the facial will help soothe and exfoliate the skin.

Does your skin have little bumps everywhere but looks fine from a distance/ or are blackheads a big concern of yours - Book the Hydrafacial (preferably the platinum, which includes a lymph treatment and booster) The hydrafacial has painless extractions. It sucks out the blackheads then washes the pore with salicylic acid. As for the tiny bumpy skin, that normally means you have a build-up of dead skin and need exfoliation. The Hydrafacial is a microdermabrasion and chemical peel in one with no downtime and can remove dead skin, preventing future breakouts. Do you have really oily skin and a lot of breakouts- Book a chemical peel and the acne laser. This is probably the king of king treatment. It will address the 3 causes of breakout - oil, bacteria, dead skin.
